How to Install & Activate Your Travel eSIM

Before You Begin: 2 Quick Checks

  • ✓ Stable Wi-Fi: Make sure your device is connected to Wi-Fi before scanning the QR code.
  • ✓ Carrier-Unlocked Phone: Ensure your phone is not locked to a specific telecom contract (check compatible devices here).

Open Cellular Settings

Go to Settings > Cellular (or Mobile Data) and tap Add eSIM.

Scan Your QR Code

Select Use QR Code and point your camera at the QR code in your Vynk confirmation email.

Label Your eSIM

When prompted, label the cellular plan as "Travel" or "Vynk" so it is easy to identify.

Turn on Roaming on Arrival

When you land at your destination, select Vynk as your Cellular Data line and switch Data Roaming to ON.

Open SIM Manager

Go to Settings > Connections (or Network & Internet) > SIM Manager.

Add Mobile Plan / Scan QR

Tap Add eSIM (or Download a SIM) and scan the QR code from your confirmation email.

Confirm & Download

Tap Add or Confirm to download the eSIM carrier profile to your device.

Enable Mobile Data & Roaming

Once you arrive abroad, set Vynk as your Primary Mobile Data SIM and ensure Data Roaming is enabled.

Yes. To avoid unexpected roaming charges from your domestic carrier, keep Data Roaming OFF on your primary home line, while turning Data Roaming ON strictly for your Vynk travel eSIM line.
We recommend installing your eSIM the day before your flight or at the departure gate on Wi-Fi. The data plan validity does not expire while sitting idle before arrival.
To scan a QR code, you can display it on a second screen (laptop, tablet, or another phone), print it out, or use your phone's manual activation details (SM-DP+ Address & Activation Code) included in your confirmation email.
No. Your eSIM works alongside your existing physical SIM using Dual SIM technology. Your phone number, WhatsApp account, and contacts remain completely unchanged.
